How to Generate Rental Income & Expenditure Reports

Report – Rental Income & Expenditure Account

The Rental Income & Expenditure Account report provides landlords with a detailed overview of rental income, property-related expenses, and taxable profit for a selected period. This report is useful for financial analysis, tax filing, and evaluating property performance.

Filters

  • Owner: Select a specific owner or choose All to include all landlords.
  • Property: Select a specific property or choose All to include multiple properties.
  • From Date / To Date: Select the date range for the report.

Income Section

  • Rental Income: Enter or view all rental payments received for each month.
  • Total Income: Sum of all rental income for the selected period.

Expenses Section

Expenses are categorised to give a clear picture of outgoing costs:

  • Property Maintenance & Repairs – e.g., plumber fees, repairs
  • Utilities & Bills – e.g., gas, electricity, water
  • Insurance – property insurance costs
  • Other Expenses – any additional costs

Total Expenses: Sum of all expenses for the selected period.

Example: £1,740.88

Taxable Profit

  • Taxable Profit: Calculated as Total Income – Total Expenses for each month and overall.

Example: £47,109.12

Finance Cost

  • Mortgage Interest Only: Displays any mortgage interest paid during the selected period.

Example: £3,436.20

This report helps landlords analyse monthly and yearly property performance, track taxable profit, and maintain accurate records for tax filing and financial planning.
